I know that cleaning the bathroom is one of the least enjoyable places in a home to clean. I get it, I’m right there with you. But over the years, as a professional house cleaner, I have picked up some tips and tricks that I want to share with you. We all have better things to do than scrub a bathroom!
These are little tips that you can incorporate into your daily routine that will reduce cleaning time in the bathroom.
Declutter
I know this one is going to be hard for the beauty junkies out there. I understand how challenging it can be to part with their beloved products. Trust me, I've been there too! Reducing the number of items on your bathroom surfaces can have a huge impact on the time spent cleaning. Plus, beauty products tend to get a bit messy and attract oils over time, making cleaning even more of a hassle. More clutter and more dust = more cleaning.
Try streamlining your collection and keeping only the essentials within easy reach. Store the rest in an organized place, like a shelf or cupboard. By simplifying your beauty setup and keeping things organized, you'll spend less time scrubbing and more time enjoying your well-deserved pampering sessions in a sparkling bathroom!
Use a Dish Wand
Using a dish wand to clean shower tiles while you're in the shower isn't a recent cleaning hack. This cleaning tip has been around for quite a while and has been tried and tested over the years by the pros.
Take advantage of your shower time to quickly wipe down the tiles Once you’re done with your shower routine, take your dish wand and wet it down, scrubbing the tiles as you go, and clean top to bottom, left to right. Rinse everything down in the shower and squeegee everything dry.
The cleaning solution recipe that I always use is equal parts dish soap vinegar and essential oils.
Use a Squeegee
Speaking of showers, every single time you take one, stop yourself and say, “Did I squeegee today?”. Incorporating squeegeeing into your daily shower routine can make a big difference in preventing soap scum buildup. It takes less than a minute and this small step can save you from the hassle of dealing with stubborn soap scum in the long run. It may not seem like it will make a big difference but it does. We've cleaned thousands of showers and we can always tell when our clients have been squeegeeing their showers because it takes significantly less time to clean!
Pre-Treat When You Clean
When tackling the bathroom, think about the cleaning process in two stages. First, we pre-treat, then we wipe and scrub. This gives the cleaner time to work and makes the scrubbing part easier.
Give it a try and see how it works for you! I'm a firm believer that if you pick the right product and tool for the job then your work time will be reduced.
These tips are a game-changer! They'll save you loads of time when cleaning your bathroom. Keep up the awesome cleaning work!
