How to Prepare Your Home for a Cleaning Service: A Simple Guide

So, you've decided to bring in the professional cleaners to give your home some extra TLC? Smart move! Before they arrive, there are a few things you can do to make sure they can work as efficiently as possible.

Declutter and Organize:

Clear out the clutter. Trust me, it'll make life a lot easier for your cleaning team. Grab some storage bins or baskets and start rounding up those loose items. The less stuff, the smoother the cleaning process will be. This will allow the cleaners easy access to the areas/surfaces to be cleaned: floors, countertops, table-tops, etc. and removing dirty dishes from kitchen sinks. Can the cleaners do these tasks for you? Absolutely, however the cleaning fee will be adjusted for the extra cleaning preparation time. Tidying before your cleaning crew arrives will save you money on your invoice.

Protect Your Treasures:

Before our team arrives, take a moment to safeguard any of your valuable and delicate items. This includes items such as beloved vases, cherished family heirlooms, and any breakable decor pieces. By securing them, you'll ensure they remain safe during your cleaning appointment. If you can't put these items away, please leave a sticky note that says "Do not touch" on them for our team.

Communicate Needs:

Communication is key, my friend. Don't be afraid to let your cleaning crew know what your preferences are. Cleaning is subjective and your cleaners want to do a good job. If you've got any specific requests or areas that need extra attention, don't be shy—speak up! Whether it's pointing out delicate surfaces, specifying preferred cleaning products, or highlighting areas needing extra TLC, providing us with this information beforehand ensures we can address your cleaning priorities effectively.

Security and Access:

If you won't be home when the cleaning crew arrives, be sure to leave them a way to access your home. Whether it's a spare key or a code, a little bit of planning goes a long way. Most of our clients use their cleaning appointments to run errands or do things that are important to them. We go in, clean, lock up, it's that easy.

With a little bit of prep work, your home will be ready for its spa day in no time. Thanks for tuning in, and happy cleaning!
